The TemplateContainerAttribute bit is confusing (How to: Create Templated ASP.NET User Controls)
Apply the TemplateContainerAttribute to the property that implements ITemplate and pass the type of the template's naming container as the argument to the attribute's constructor. Which part is this?I am thinking it is related to the following:[ TemplateContainer(typeof(MessageContainer)) ]I am trying to get it through my head but I couldn't. Could anyone explain this please?Thank you in advance.

DesktopAbsoluteParsing and control panel (SIGDN enumeration (Windows))
On Windows XP SP3, DesktopAbsoluteParsing (or at least, its GetDisplayNameOf() equivalent, SHGDN_FORPARSING) doesn't work correctly for control panel items: ParentRelativeParsing returns the full file path of the .cpl file, but DesktopAbsoluteParsing returns the display name of the control panel item.

Why does calling SetWindowLong(Handle, GWL_USERDATA, (long)5) where Handle is a SysLink control, makes the application non-responsive and crash on an XP system? It seems the syslink control is using itself the GWL_USERDATA when it should definitely not, since it is supposed to be reserved for the application. -- The GWL_USERDATA value belongs to the window class. You are misinterpreting the word

If you happen to use the ASP.NET <asp:Login /> control, you do not need to worry about managing the FormsAuthentication object; under the scenes, this control calls all of the methods necessary to handle these functions for you. The control renders the user name and textbox, checks the membership provider for valid user credentials, sets the user cookie (if the remember me set is checked),
