Are they bringing the XML literal translation ability to C# with .NET 4.0? That would be extremely helpful instead of having to do the function calls to insert the elements and attributes.

setting hostingEnvironment attributes at application level. (hostingEnvironment Element (ASP.NET Settings Schema))
I have a site on a Win2003/IIS 6.0 hosting service that has been experiencing frequent appdomain recycles, and slow load times. The hosting service will not set the app pool idle timeout for me. So, I tried setting hostingEnvironment's idleTimeout attribute to "Infinite" in my application's web.config. That has no effect. I tried large timeout values. That has no effect. Dealing with multiple attributes in one file (FileSystemInfo.Attributes Property (System.IO))
The above example only works if the file has only 1 attribute. If it has multiple attributes like (hidden | archive | system) this will not work:file.attribute == FileAttributes.Hiddensince the file.attribute's value will be (hidden | archive | system). The following code will work instead.foreach (FileInfo file in fileList){if ( ((file.Attributes & FileAttributes.Hidden) == FileAttributes.Hidd

Notes about the PolicyFeature root node (PolicyFeature Element)
2 things of importance.1) In order to import your PolicyFeature into MOSS you need to include the xml namespace. xmlns:p ="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:server:policy" 2) Once you have applied the xml namespace, you have to use LOWER CASE for your attributes (i.e. you need to have "id" and "group", insteasd of "Id" and "Group" like the SDK states)

Tip when using Find and Replace with Regular Expressions (Find in Files, Find and Replace Window)
To find and remove attributes within XML, you can use a variation of the following expressions. This can be useful if you change/update the schema associated with an XML document and you need to remove lots of obsolete attributes. To find all attributes called name, you would use this expression: ( Name="[^"]*")i.e. When used against this XML fragment<Field ID="{9da97a8a-1da5-4a77-98d3-4bc10456e

After using this the page loaded with a javascript version of a NullReference-exception. After some debugging and

Additional values for attributes (Field Element (List - Definition))
This may be an intentionally undocumented feature, but the Mult attribute can also take a value of "TRUE", which, if the Type="Lookup" results in a lookup column allowing multiple selections. Also there is an attribute missing: RichTextMode values-->HtmlAsXml, FullHtml, Compatible Edited: The Mult="TRUE" is required when the Type="UserMulti", allowing multiple user selections as in
