Compiler Error CS1548

Cryptographic failure while signing assembly 'assembly' — 'reason'

This error occurs when the signing of the assembly fails for some reason. There are several possible reasons why this could occur. The most common are that the assembly key file directive (usually in the AssemblyInfo.cs file) has an incorrect path to the key file, or the path is not a relative path to the build directory, or there is something wrong with the key file. For example, if the key file is in the project folder, the following should appear in AssemblyInfo.cs:

[assembly: AssemblyKeyFile("..\\..\\SnkFileName.snk")]
