XmlWriter.WriteEntityRef Method

When overridden in a derived class, writes out an entity reference as &name;.

name

The name of the entity reference.

Exception typeCondition

ArgumentException

name is either a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) or String.Empty.

Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone, Windows CE Platform Note: When using this method with the XmlDictionaryWriter on the .NET Compact Framework, it throws a NotSupportedException.

The following example writes an XML file representing a book.
