In the .NET Framework version 2.0 release, the recommended practice is to create XmlWriter instances using the XmlWriter.Create method and the XmlWriterSettings class. This allows you to take full advantage of all the new features introduced in this release. For more information, see Creating XML Writers. |
Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows XP SP2 x64 Edition, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
The note about the XmlTextWriter says the following: "To ensure valid XML, you must specify a valid white space character, 0x9, 0x10, 0x13 or 0x20".
I wonder if these codes are the correct ones. As far as I know, these are hexadecimal values so it should say "To ensure valid XML, you must specify a valid white space character, 0x9, 0xA, 0xD or 0x20"
Indeed 0x10 is DLE and 0x13 is DC3, and these characters are not valid in XML.
