Gets the namespace prefix associated with the current node.

Namespace:  System.Xml
Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)
Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Public Overrides ReadOnly Property Prefix As String
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As XmlTextReader
Dim value As String

value = instance.Prefix
C#
public override string Prefix { get; }
Visual C++
public:
virtual property String^ Prefix {
    String^ get () override;
}
JScript
public override function get Prefix () : String

Property Value

Type: System..::.String
The namespace prefix associated with the current node.
Remarks

NoteNote:

In the .NET Framework version 2.0 release, the recommended practice is to create XmlReader instances using the XmlReader..::.Create method. This allows you to take full advantage of the new features introduced in this release. For more information, see Creating XML Readers.

Examples

The following example displays the local name of each node, and, if they exist, the prefix and namespace URI.
