XmlSchema::ElementFormDefault Property

Gets or sets the form for elements declared in the target namespace of the schema.

Property Value

Type: System.Xml.Schema::XmlSchemaForm
The XmlSchemaForm value that indicates if elements from the target namespace are required to be qualified with the namespace prefix. The default is None.

The value must be one of the XmlSchemaForm values shown in the following table.

XmlSchemaForm Value

Description

None

The element form is not specified in the schema.

Qualified

Elements from the target namespace must be qualified with the namespace prefix.

Unqualified

Elements from the target namespace are not required to be qualified with the namespace prefix.

This value is the global default for all elements declared in the target namespace. Individual elements can override this setting for the local scope by using the form attribute.

Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1

Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
