Remarks

A manipulation is a real-time, physical action that is applied to an object to change its state. A manipulation is interpreted to scale, rotate, or translate the UIElement object. For example, a photo viewing application might allow users to move, zoom, resize, and rotate a photo by touching the computer screen over the photo.

A UIElement can continue to receive manipulation events after the input device loses contact with it. For example, if a user "throws" a UIElement across a surface, the user will touch the UIElement to begin the action and then release the UIElement. When the user releases the element, inertia begins and the ManipulationInertiaStarting event occurs. The UIElement continues to receive ManipulationDelta events to indicate that inertia is occurring on the element.

By default, a UIElement does not receive the ManipulationInertiaStarting event. To receive this event, set IsManipulationEnabled to true.
