[Visual Basic]
Protected Overridable Sub OnTextBoxKeyPress( _
   ByVal source As Object, _
   ByVal e As KeyPressEventArgs _
)
[C#]
protected virtual void OnTextBoxKeyPress(
 object source,
 KeyPressEventArgs e
);
[C++]
protected: virtual void OnTextBoxKeyPress(
 Object* source,
 KeyPressEventArgs* e
);
[JScript]
protected function OnTextBoxKeyPress(
   source : Object,
 e : KeyPressEventArgs
);

Parameters

source
The source of the event.
e
A KeyPressEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnTextBoxKeyPress method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:  When overriding OnTextBoxKeyPress in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnTextBoxKeyPress method so that registered delegates receive the event.
