Limit on string length
The tooltip title is limited to 100 characters (including the string termination character) due to restrictions in the Win32 API that is used to actually create the tool tip info window. Even though the ToolTip class is .NET managed code, it calls in to unmanaged APIs to create and manipulate the tooltip info window, including sending a TTM_SETTITLE message to set the tooltip's title. According to the MSDN documentation for this message (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb760414(VS.85).aspx), when calling TTM_SETTITLE, the string pointed to by pszTitle must not exceed 100 TCHARs in length, including the terminating NULL.

You can actually pass a string longer than this to the ToolTipTitle property without encountering an error, but the tooltip will simply not display any title.
