Timer.Enabled Property

Gets or sets whether the timer is running.

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the timer is currently enabled; otherwise, false. The default is false.

The timer is not subject to garbage collection when the value is true.

Calling the Start method is the same as setting Enabled to true. Likewise, calling the Stop method is the same as setting Enabled to false.

The following example implements a simple interval timer, which sets off an alarm every five seconds. When the alarm occurs, a MessageBox displays a count of the number of times the alarm has started and prompts the user whether the timer should continue to run.
