Gets or sets a value specifying the source of complete strings used for automatic completion.
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
[<BrowsableAttribute(true)>] member AutoCompleteSource : AutoCompleteSource with get, set
Use the AutoCompleteCustomSource, AutoCompleteMode, and properties to create a TextBox that automatically completes input strings by comparing the prefix being entered to the prefixes of all strings in a maintained source. This is useful for TextBox controls in which URLs, addresses, file names, or commands will be frequently entered.
You must use the AutoCompleteMode and properties together.
does not work on multiline TextBox controls.
The operating system might limit the number of custom strings that can be displayed at once.
The following code example demonstrates how to use a collection as the auto-complete custom source for a TextBox control. This example does the following:
Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
