ListViewItem.BeginEdit Method

Places the item text into edit mode.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
public void BeginEdit()
ExceptionCondition
InvalidOperationException

The LabelEdit property of the associated ListView is not set to true.

This property is effective only if the LabelEdit property of the ListView control that contains the item is set to true. You can use this method at run time to force the item's text to display in edit mode. For example, if you are validating the item text edited by the user, and an item fails validation, you could select the item in the ListView control and call the BeginEdit method to force the user to change the text that failed validation.
