Occurs when an item is activated.
Public Event ItemActivate As EventHandler
Dim instance As ListView Dim handler As EventHandler AddHandler instance.ItemActivate, handler
public event EventHandler ItemActivate
public: event EventHandler^ ItemActivate { void add (EventHandler^ value); void remove (EventHandler^ value); }
JScript does not support events.
The ItemActivate event occurs when the user activates one or more items in the ListView control. The user can activate an item with either a single-click or double-click, depending on the value of the Activation property, or with the keyboard. From within the event handler for the ItemActivate event, you can reference the SelectedItems or SelectedIndices properties to access the collection of items selected in the ListView to determine which items are being activated.
For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.
The following code example demonstrates the use of this member. In the example, an event handler reports on the occurrence of the ItemActivate event. This report helps you to learn when the event occurs and can assist you in debugging. To report on multiple events or on events that occur frequently, consider replacing MessageBox..::.Show with Console..::.WriteLine or appending the message to a multiline TextBox.
To run the example code, paste it into a project that contains an instance of type ListView named ListView1. Then ensure that the event handler is associated with the ItemActivate event.
Private Sub ListView1_ItemActivate(sender as Object, e as EventArgs) _ Handles ListView1.ItemActivate MessageBox.Show("You are in the ListView.ItemActivate event.") End Sub
private void ListView1_ItemActivate(Object sender, EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("You are in the ListView.ItemActivate event."); }
