Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/.NET Framework 2.0

Other versions are also available for the following:
.NET Framework Class Library
Form.Shown Event

Note: This event is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Occurs whenever the form is first displayed.

Namespace: System.Windows.Forms
Assembly: System.Windows.Forms (in system.windows.forms.dll)

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Public Event Shown As EventHandler
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As Form
Dim handler As EventHandler

AddHandler instance.Shown, handler
C#
public event EventHandler Shown
C++
public:
event EventHandler^ Shown {
    void add (EventHandler^ value);
    void remove (EventHandler^ value);
}
J#
/** @event */
public void add_Shown (EventHandler value)

/** @event */
public void remove_Shown (EventHandler value)
JScript
JScript supports the use of events, but not the declaration of new ones.

The Shown event is only raised the first time a form is displayed; subsequently minimizing, maximizing, restoring, hiding, showing, or invalidating and repainting will not raise this event.

For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.
