DataGridView.OnReadOnlyChanged Method

Raises the ReadOnlyChanged event.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)
protected virtual void OnReadOnlyChanged(
	EventArgs e
)

Parameters

e
Type: System.EventArgs
An EventArgs that contains the event data.
ExceptionCondition
InvalidCastException

The control changed from read-only to read/write, enabling the current cell to enter edit mode, but the EditType property of the current cell does not indicate a class that derives from Control and implements IDataGridViewEditingControl.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnReadOnlyChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnReadOnlyChanged in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnReadOnlyChanged method so that registered delegates receive the event.
