DataGridView.OnColumnDisplayIndexChanged Method

Raises the ColumnDisplayIndexChanged event.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

protected virtual void OnColumnDisplayIndexChanged(
	DataGridViewColumnEventArgs e
)

Parameters

e
Type: System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewColumnEventArgs
A DataGridViewColumnEventArgs that contains the event data.

ExceptionCondition
ArgumentException

The column indicated by the Column property of e does not belong to this DataGridView control.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnColumnDisplayIndexChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnColumnDisplayIndexChanged in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnColumnDisplayIndexChanged method so that registered delegates receive the event.
