Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Protected Overridable Sub OnHandleCreated ( _
    e As EventArgs _
)
Visual Basic (Usage)

Me.OnHandleCreated(e)
C#
protected virtual void OnHandleCreated(
    EventArgs e
)
Visual C++
protected:
virtual void OnHandleCreated(
    EventArgs^ e
)
JScript
protected function OnHandleCreated(
    e : EventArgs
)

Parameters

e
Type: System..::.EventArgs
An EventArgs that contains the event data.
Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnHandleCreated method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors:

When overriding OnHandleCreated in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnHandleCreated method so that registered delegates receive the event.

It is a bug or a feature
On Compact Framework, OnHandleCreated will be called before class constructor. To reproduce that create delivered class from control class and put simple MessageBox statements as a check points.
