CollectionView.PassesFilter Method

Returns a value that indicates whether the specified item in the underlying collection belongs to the view.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Data
Assembly:  PresentationFramework (in PresentationFramework.dll)

public virtual bool PassesFilter(
	Object item
)
You cannot use methods in XAML.

Parameters

item
Type: System.Object

The item to check.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the specified item belongs to the view or if there is not filter set on the collection view; otherwise, false.

Unlike the Contains method, this method assumes that the specified item belongs to the underlying collection. This method takes filters into account. Typically, you use this method during collection-changed notifications to determine if the added or removed item requires processing.
