ControlTemplate.ValidateTemplatedParent Method

Checks the templated parent against a set of rules.

Parameters
- templatedParent
- Type: System.Windows.FrameworkElement
The element this template is applied to.
| Exception | Condition |
|---|---|
| ArgumentNullException | The templatedParent must not be null. |
| ArgumentException | The TargetType of a ControlTemplate must match the type of the Control that it is being applied to. |
| ArgumentException | You must associate the ControlTemplate with a Control by setting the Control.Template property before using the ControlTemplate on the Control. |
The method uses the following rules:
1. The templatedParent cannot be of type FrameworkContentElement.
2. The templatedParent cannot be of type FrameworkElement that is not a Control.
3. The templatedParent cannot be a Control that is not associated with the ControlTemplate.
