TreeScope Enumeration

Contains values that specify the scope of elements within the UI Automation tree.

This enumeration has a FlagsAttribute attribute that allows a bitwise combination of its member values.

Member nameDescription
ElementSpecifies that the search include the element itself.
ChildrenSpecifies that the search include the element's immediate children.
DescendantsSpecifies that the search include the element's descendants, including children.
ParentSpecifies that the search include the element's parent. Not supported.
AncestorsSpecifies that the search include the element's ancestors, including the parent. Not supported.
SubtreeSpecifies that the search include the root of the search and all descendants.

These values are used to specify the scope in searching for elements, subscribing to events, and caching.

.NET Framework Client Profile

Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1

Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
