Menu.RenderBeginTag Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Adds tag attributes and writes the markup for the opening tag of the control to the output stream emitted to the browser or device.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public override void RenderBeginTag (
	HtmlTextWriter writer
)
public void RenderBeginTag (
	HtmlTextWriter writer
)
public override function RenderBeginTag (
	writer : HtmlTextWriter
)

Parameters

writer

The HtmlTextWriter containing methods to build and render the device-specific output.

The RenderBeginTag method adds tag attributes and writes the markup for the opening tag of the control to the output stream emitted to the response stream for the client browser.

Override RenderBeginTag when you want to implement custom behavior, for example to write multiple tags to the response stream before any control content, such as <table><tr><td>. This method overrides the RenderBeginTag method to add the SkipLinkText property.

NoteNote

This method is used primarily by control developers to extend the Menu control.
