Menu.DynamicEnableDefaultPopOutImage Property

Gets or sets a value indicating whether the built-in image that indicates that a dynamic menu item has a submenu is displayed.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

public bool DynamicEnableDefaultPopOutImage { get; set; }
<asp:Menu DynamicEnableDefaultPopOutImage="True|False" />

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean
true to display the built-in image for dynamic menu items with submenus; otherwise, false. The default is true.

When a dynamic menu item contains a submenu, an image can be displayed to indicate that the user can expand the menu by positioning the mouse pointer over the menu item. There are two ways to display this image:

  • Set the DynamicEnableDefaultPopOutImage property to true to use the built-in image (default).

  • Set the DynamicPopOutImageUrl property to specify a custom image.

If the DynamicPopOutImageUrl property is set, that image overrides the built-in image.

NoteNote

If the DynamicPopOutImageUrl property is not set and the DynamicEnableDefaultPopOutImage property is set to false, no image is displayed.

You can specify alternate text for the image by setting the DynamicPopOutImageTextFormatString property. This text is displayed as a ToolTip when the user positions the mouse pointer over the image. This text also provides assistive technology devices with a description of the image that can be used to make the control more accessible.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the DynamicEnableDefaultPopOutImage property to hide the image that indicates that a dynamic menu item has a submenu. The DynamicPopOutImageUrl property must also be set to an empty string ("") for the image to be hidden.
