GridView.IsBindableType Method

Determines whether the specified data type can be bound to a column in a GridView control.

Parameters

type
Type: System.Type

A System.Type that represents the data type to test.

Return Value

Type: System.Boolean
true if the specified data type can be bound to a column in a GridView control; otherwise, false.

The IsBindableType method is a helper method that is commonly used by control developers to programmatically determine whether the specified data type can be bound to a column in a GridView control. The following data types can be bound to a column in a GridView control:

.NET Framework

Supported in: 4.5, 4, 3.5, 3.0, 2.0

Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
