Property Value

Type: System..::.String
A string that is displayed in the footer item of the DataControlField.

Use the FooterText property to add notes or comments to a data control field, or for other data related to the field.

NoteNote:

Some data-bound controls do not render a footer item for a data control field. For example, the DetailsView control displays its data control fields as rows. A footer item is not rendered for these data control fields. The FooterStyle property is ignored in these controls.

The value of this property, when set, can be saved automatically to a resource file by using a designer tool. For more information, see LocalizableAttribute and ASP.NET Globalization and Localization.
