BulletedList.SelectedItem Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Gets the currently selected item in a BulletedList control.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public override ListItem SelectedItem { get; }
/** @property */
public ListItem get_SelectedItem ()

public override function get SelectedItem () : ListItem

Property Value

a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

In the base class, ListControl, the SelectedItem property returns a ListItem object that represents the currently selected item in a BulletedList control. The default is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic). The SelectedItem property is not applicable to the BulletedList control.

If you use the get accessor for the SelectedItem property to return the selected item for a BulletedList control, it always returns a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Use the event data of the BulletedListEventArgs class to determine the index of the link button in a BulletedList that was clicked.
