DataSourceSelectArguments..::.TotalRowCount Property

Gets or sets the number of rows retrieved during a data retrieval operation.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)
Visual Basic (Declaration)
Public Property TotalRowCount As Integer
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As DataSourceSelectArguments
Dim value As Integer

value = instance.TotalRowCount

instance.TotalRowCount = value
C#
public int TotalRowCount { get; set; }
Visual C++
public:
property int TotalRowCount {
    int get ();
    void set (int value);
}
JScript
public function get TotalRowCount () : int
public function set TotalRowCount (value : int)

Property Value

Type: System..::.Int32
The total number of data rows retrieved by the data retrieval operation.

The TotalRowCount property supports paging scenarios. Data source and data source view controls differ in their internal implementation for how to retrieve total row counts. Check the DataSourceView..::.CanRetrieveTotalRowCount property to determine whether a data source view supports retrieving a total row count during a data-retrieval operation. If the data source supports it, the TotalRowCount property is set by the data source control during the course of a data-retrieval operation, and the total data row count is returned in the TotalRowCount property, much as a value is returned in an output parameter of a method.

Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Starter Edition, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2000 SP4, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 98

The .NET Framework and .NET Compact Framework do not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
