SoapException.DetailElementName Field

Gets an XmlQualifiedName that represents the Detail element of a SOAP Fault code.

Namespace:  System.Web.Services.Protocols
Assembly:  System.Web.Services (in System.Web.Services.dll)

Public Shared ReadOnly DetailElementName As XmlQualifiedName

In building an XmlNode for the Detail property, the Name and Namespace properties of DetailElementName can be used to ensure consistency with the SOAP specification.

The following example sets the Detail property using the DetailElementName field and then throws a SoapException.

<%@ WebService Language="VB" class="ThrowSoapException"%>

Imports System
Imports System.Web.Services
Imports System.Web.Services.Protocols
Imports System.Xml.Serialization
Imports System.Xml

        Dim doc As New System.Xml.XmlDocument()
        Dim node As System.Xml.XmlNode = doc.CreateNode(XmlNodeType.Element, _

        ' Build specific details for the SoapException.

        Dim attr As XmlAttribute = doc.CreateAttribute("t", "attrName", _
        attr.Value = "attrValue"

        ' Append the two child elements to the detail node.
