HttpRequest.TotalBytes Property

Gets the number of bytes in the current input stream.

Namespace:  System.Web
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)
public int TotalBytes { get; }

Property Value

Type: System.Int32
The number of bytes in the input stream.

The following code example determines whether the TotalBytes property value is greater than 1000 bytes and writes that information to a file.

// Write a message to the file dependent upon
// the value of the TotalBytes property.
if (Request.TotalBytes > 1000)
{
    sw.WriteLine("The request is 1KB or greater");
}
else
{
    sw.WriteLine("The request is less than 1KB");
}

Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
