Places an object in the list of registered objects for the application.
Assembly: System.Web (in System.Web.dll)
The ApplicationManager class enables methods outside the current application domain to create, manage, and destroy objects inside the current application domain. The method is used to register previously created objects with the hosting environment. Objects registered with the method must implement the IRegisteredObject interface.
To use a registered object, follow these steps:
Create a new instance of your registered object by calling the ApplicationManager::CreateObject method.
Call a type-specific method to initialize your new object. In the initialization method, call the method to add the object to the list of registered objects.
Call the ApplicationManager::GetObject method to return the registered object when required.
The following code example is an implementation of a Start method for a registered object. For the full code required to run the example, see the Example section of the IRegisteredObject interface overview topic.
Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
