DynamicDataExtensions.EnablePersistedSelection Method

Note: This API is now obsolete.

Enables selection to be persisted in data controls that support selection and paging.

Namespace:  System.Web.DynamicData
Assembly:  System.Web.DynamicData (in System.Web.DynamicData.dll)
'Declaration
<ExtensionAttribute> _
<ObsoleteAttribute("Use the EnablePersistedSelection property on a databound control such as GridView or ListView.")> _
Public Shared Sub EnablePersistedSelection ( _
	dataBoundControl As BaseDataBoundControl _
)

Parameters

dataBoundControl
Type: System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl

The data bound control.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type BaseDataBoundControl. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

In controls that extend BaseDataBoundControl and that support selection, paging, and sorting, calling this method enables the control to persist selection even when the selected row is not visible. For example, if the user selects a row and then pages to another page, or if the user sorts the data, the selected row remains selected. If this method is not called, selection is lost when the user pages or sorts.

The RegisterControl method calls EnablePersistedSelection.
