DataProtectionPermissionAttribute.ProtectData Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Gets or sets a value indicating whether data can be encrypted using the ProtectedData class.

public bool ProtectData { get; set; }

public boolean get_ProtectData ()

public void set_ProtectData (boolean value)

public function get ProtectData () : boolean

public function set ProtectData (value : boolean)

Property Value

true if data can be encrypted; otherwise, false.

If the value is false, a SecurityException occurs when the ProtectedData.Protect method is called.
