System.Security.Authentication Namespace

The Authentication namespace provides a set of enumerations that describe the security of a connection. These enumerations include CipherAlgorithmType, ExchangeAlgorithmType, HashAlgorithmType, and SslProtocolType.

  Class Description
Public class AuthenticationException The exception that is thrown when authentication fails for an authentication stream.
Public class InvalidCredentialException The exception that is thrown when authentication fails for an authentication stream and cannot be retried.
  Enumeration Description
Public enumeration CipherAlgorithmType Defines the possible cipher algorithms for the SslStream class.
Public enumeration ExchangeAlgorithmType Specifies the algorithm used to create keys shared by the client and server.
Public enumeration HashAlgorithmType Specifies the algorithm used for generating message authentication codes (MACs).
Public enumeration SslProtocols Defines the possible versions of SslProtocols.
