Copies the current topmost value on the evaluation stack, and then pushes the copy onto the evaluation stack.
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)
The following table lists the instruction's hexadecimal and Microsoft Intermediate Language (MSIL) assembly format, along with a brief reference summary:
Duplicates the value on the top of the stack.
The stack transitional behavior, in sequential order, is:
value is pushed onto the stack.
value is popped off of the stack for duplication.
value is pushed back onto the stack.
A duplicate value is pushed onto the stack.
The dup instruction duplicates the top element of the stack, and leaves two identical values atop it.
The following Emit method overload can use the dup opcode:
Windows Phone 8.1, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
