Client certificates are used to authenticate the client during the initial SSL connection negotiation. For more information, see EnableSsl.
Note |
|---|
The .NET Framework caches SSL sessions as they are created and attempts to reuse a cached session for a new request, if possible. When attempting to reuse an SSL session, the .NET Framework uses the first element of ClientCertificates (if there is one), or tries to reuse an anonymous session if ClientCertificates is empty. |
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition Platform Note: The .NET Framework attempts to reuse an SSL session only if a client certificate is not required.
Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
