Math::Sqrt Method

Returns the square root of a specified number.

The number whose square root is to be found.

Return Value

Type: System::Double
One of the values in the following table.

d parameter	Return value
Zero or positive	The positive square root of d.
Negative	NaN
Equals NaN	NaN
Equals PositiveInfinity	PositiveInfinity

Examples

The square root of the area of a square represents the length of any side of the square. The following example displays the area of some cities in the United States and gives an impression of each city's size if it were represented by a square.
