Trace.Indent Method

Increases the current IndentLevel by one.

Namespace:  System.Diagnostics
Assembly:  System (in System.dll)
[ConditionalAttribute("TRACE")]
public static void Indent()

The following example increments and decrements the indent level and emits tracing messages.

Trace.WriteLine("List of errors:");
 Trace.Indent();
 Trace.WriteLine("Error 1: File not found");
 Trace.WriteLine("Error 2: Directory not found");
 Trace.Unindent();
 Trace.WriteLine("End of list of errors");

This example produces the following output:

List of errors:
     Error 1: File not found
     Error 2: Directory not found
End of list of errors

Very rare problem with .Write + NewLine
Code:
            Trace.WriteLine("No indent yet");
            Trace.Indent();
            Trace.WriteLine("Should be indented, and is.");
            Trace.Write("But should you want to use Write with newline instead" + Environment.NewLine);
            Trace.WriteLine("WriteLine is not indented any more despite IndentLevel = " + Trace.IndentLevel.ToString());
            Trace.WriteLine("i.e. Write with Environment.NewLine cannot be used instead of WriteLine");

Output:
No indent yet
    Should be indented, and is.
    But should you want to use Write with newline instead
WriteLine is not indented any more despite IndentLevel = 1
    i.e. Write with Environment.NewLine cannot be used instead of WriteLine
