SqlConnectionStringBuilder.ContextConnection Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether a client/server or in-process connection to SQL Server should be made.

Namespace: System.Data.SqlClient
Assembly: System.Data (in system.data.dll)

public bool ContextConnection { get; set;
/** @property */
public boolean get_ContextConnection ()

/** @property */
public void set_ContextConnection (boolean value)

public function get ContextConnection () : boolean

public function set ContextConnection (value : boolean)

Property Value

The value of the ContextConnection property, or False if none has been supplied.

This property corresponds to the "Context Connection" key within the connection string. If the value passed in is null when you try to set the property, the ContextConnection property is reset. If the value has not been set and the developer tries to retrieve the property, the return value is False.

NoteNote

  The DataSource property returns a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) if the connection string for the SqlConnection is "context connection=true".
