SqlFunctions.SoundCode Method

Converts an alphanumeric string to a four-character (SOUNDEX) code to find similar-sounding words or names.

Parameters

arg
Type: System.String

A valid string.

Return Value

Type: System.String
The SOUNDEX code of the input string.

You cannot call this function directly. This function can only appear within a LINQ to Entities query.

This function is translated to a corresponding function in the database. For information about the corresponding SQL Server function, see SOUNDEX (Transact-SQL).
