MetaModel.ProviderType Property
.NET Framework 4
Gets or sets the provider type.
Assembly: System.Data.Linq (in System.Data.Linq.dll)
If this property is specified, an existing provider type can be used. This will eliminate a round trip to the server to obtain this information. LINQ to SQL has to know the provider type to establish appropriate query translation rules. LINQ to SQL supports Sql2000Provider and Sql2005Provider providers.
Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
