ComponentDesigner::ParentComponent Property

Gets the parent component for this designer.

Namespace:  System.ComponentModel.Design
Assembly:  System.Design (in System.Design.dll)
protected:
virtual property IComponent^ ParentComponent {
	IComponent^ get ();
}

Property Value

Type: System.ComponentModel::IComponent
The parent component for this designer, or nullptr if this designer is the root component.

This property provides a generic mechanism for discovering parent relationships within designers, and is used by the ComponentDesigner object's ITreeDesigner interface implementation. This property should only return nullptr when this designer is the root component. The default implementation of this property returns the root component for all components that are not the root component, and it returns nullptr for the root component.
