SRSReportDataSetAttribute Class [AX 2012]

The SRSReportDataSetAttribute class specifies that a specified method in a SRSReportDataProvider object is used as a dataset in SSRS.

Remarks

This attribute is marked on methods in classes that implement the SRSReportDataProvider class or extend the SRSReportDataProviderBase class.

The methods attributed return a table buffer and this is used as a dataset in SSRS in Visual studio designer.

For example,

[SRSReportDataSetAttribute("MyDataSet")] public CustTable getCustTable() {....}

In the previous example, at design time, the CustTable object is used as a source of data in SQL Server Reporting Services.

At run time, the getCustTable method is called to get the data. The name of the dataset has to be unique in a given class because you cannot mark more than one method with the same dataset name.
