Speech Server Deployment Groups

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

In the Speech Server Administrator console, the components required for a Speech Server deployment are contained in deployment groups (shown in the console tree).

A Speech Server deployment group contains the following subgroups:

  • Servers subgroup ??? A collection of computers running the Speech Server service.
  • Applications subgroup ??? A collection of speech applications that are dependent on the computers in the Servers subgroup.
  • Trusted SIP Peers subgroup ??? A collection of SIP peers that have trusted SIP communications with the computers in the Servers subgroup.

Speech Server initially contains one deployment group called Default. You can add computers running Speech Server, voice response applications, and trusted SIP peers to the Default group or create another deployment group to which to add components. For more information about working with deployment groups and their subgroups, see:

You can choose to group Speech Server components based on any criteria you decide might make viewing and modifying components as a single deployment group advantageous. For example, if you have multiple computers running Speech Server and running the same application and they also require identical configuration settings, it might be advantageous to put those computers in the same deployment group and be able to view and maintain settings across all computers in a consistent manner.
