The permanenturl Field provides a unique identifier for an item across the store and will not change as long as the item remains in the same folder. The permanenturl Field contains the ID of the parent folder of the item, which changes when the item is moved to a different folder or deleted. Changing a field on an item will not change the permanenturl Field and neither will adding more items to the folder with the same display name or message subject.
