Explanation:
This error occurs when WINS attempts to create a backup of the WINS database files and fails. The failure can be caused by an invalid local path or universal naming conversion (UNC) path.
User Action:
In WINS Manager, click Configuration on the Server menu.
Set the Database Backup Path to a valid local path such as C:\\WINNT35\\SYSTEM32\\WINS. (Do not use a UNC path or a network path to back up the database. WINS cannot restore the database from a network drive).
On the Mappings menu, click Backup Database.
