Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2004/2006 SDK
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server is an extensible platform that integrates firewall and cache features, and routes requests and responses between the Internet and client computers. ISA Server provides filtering to block access to specific sites, and uses network address translation (NAT) and other methods to enable secure access between an intranet and the Internet. This documentation includes information and libraries for developing extensions, administration tools, security applications, and other components that integrate with and build on the ISA Server platform.
ISA Server includes firewall services, virtual private networking (VPN) support, advanced caching capabilities, packet filtering, and alerting. This documentation includes information relevant to developers wanting to extend these features and automate their configuration.
The information in this documentation for ISA Server is relevant to programmers, system administrators, and tool vendors. To use this documentation, programming experience in the following areas is desirable:
Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 and ISA Server 2004 Enterprise Edition require Microsoft Windows® Server 2003.
ISA Server 2004 Standard Edition requires Windows Server 2003 or an operating system from the Windows 2000 Server family.
