| Welcome to Microsoft® ADOCE version 3.1 Microsoft® ActiveX® Data Objects for the
Windows® CE operating system (ADOCE) provides a subset of the desktop ADO
specifically engineered to work with Windows CE. ADOCE includes its own
internal database provider and enables you to have access to databases stored
locally on a Windows CEbased device instead of working with databases
stored remotely on desktop computers. The ADOCE version 3.1 control can also
work with data sources that use an OLE DB provider. With the ADOCE control, you can develop
applications using most of the same ADO syntax you use for programming on a
desktop computer. ADOCE requires minimal work to port existing ADO-based
applications. For the latest information about developing for Windows CE, visit the Microsoft Windows CE World Wide Web site,
www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded.
