Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP)

The Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) provides end-to-end network transport functions that are suitable for applications that transmit real-time data, such as audio, video, or simulation data, over multicast or unicast network services.

The RFC for RTP is stored by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

For information on RTP, see RFC 1889: RTP: A Transport Protocol for Real-Time Applications.

For Microsoft licensing information, see Published Protocols and Royalty-Free License on Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN).
