Creating a Custom Playlist Parser

Windows Media Services includes two playlist parser plug-ins. The WMS Smil Playlist Parser plug-in creates a playlist object from a playlist file that contains Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) 2.0 syntax. The WMS Directory Playlist Parser plug-in creates a playlist object that references the media files in a directory. To create a playlist from any other source, you must create a custom playlist parser plug-in. For more information, see Creating Playlist Parser Plug-ins.
