Before you begin this walkthrough, do the following:

1. Complete the steps 1, 2, and 5 from AdventureWorks SQL Server 2000 Sample, so that you have a connection to the AdventureWorks2000 database; have defined the entities, methods, and filters used by the Business Data Catalog; and have defined an IDEnumerator to enable business data search for the business data application:

   • Step 1: Connect to the AdventureWorks2000 Database

   • Step 2: Define Entities, Methods, and Filters

   • Step 5 (Optional): Define IDEnumerator Methods and Enable Business Data Search

2. Test the Business Data Catalog application you created from the AdventureWorks2000 sample. You can find the steps to do this in How to: Create a Business Data List Web Part.

3. Make sure you have the following in your test environment:

   • A server with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 installed

   • Permissions to administer the Shared Service Provider configuration
