Enterprise Search in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Business Data Catalog give you the ability to include business data from back-end server applications, such as SAP or Siebel, in search queries. However, adding an application to the Business Data Catalog does not make it available to Enterprise Search automatically. You must configure Enterprise Search to search an application in the Business Data Catalog.

Prerequisites

Complete the steps 1, 2, and 5 from AdventureWorks SQL Server 2000 Sample, so that you have a connection to the AdventureWorks2000 database; have defined the entities, methods, and filters used by the Business Data Catalog; and have defined an IDEnumerator to enable business data search for the business data application:
